Relka was a terrestrial world located in the Relkan Sector of the Inner Rim territories. As one of the first planets colonized by the Antrixians within the sector, Relka was the sector capital for a brief time before it was transferred to Sangheili. Relka was governed by House Damodred for a majority of it's history. During the Imperial Occupation of the Antrixian Commonwealth, Relka was one of the most devastated worlds, suffering from Imperial bombardment and blockade during the initial occupation.
History[]
If Antrixies was first to feel the might of the Imperial occupation, then Relka was the one to feel it next, in full. With intelligence about possible force-sensitivity within the bloodline of House Damodred provided by Dontaine Strykia, the Imperials set out to ensure that it would not be a threat. The planet was razed in the most intense bombardments of the opening conflicts. Imperial Captain Terrel Harkness saw to it personally. The Battle of Relka resulted in total devastation of any areas of civilization on the surface of the planet.
During its colonization and in the time following the admission to the Antrixian Commonwealth, Relka was a prosperous planet. It was distinguished among the other planets of the Commonwealth within the Relkan Sector by the noble major house, House Damodred. With Damodred's strong Force Bloodlines, Relka was often the site of gatherings for the Jinsai, especially the Gai'din or the Jinsai Order. Relka also hosted the largest library within the Commonwealth, containing works that covered the history of the Commonwealth and it's peoples, along with the great works of fiction written in the territory.
Mostly a barren wasteland now, Relka is far from its glory days as a noble house planet. Refugees and survivors live in squalor on the planet, cut off from the rest of the Commonwealth by an Imperial blockade during a majority of the Imperial occupation. Scavengers have stolen anything of value that survived the devastation. Local smugglers bring in what supplies they can, past the blockade, attempting to aid the refugees and survivors. Running the blockade has become known as the Relkan Twist by most familiar with it. Not until after the end of the Imperial occupation does Relka even start to resemble one of the planets of the Landsraad again.
