|Physical and Technical Specifications|
|Usage and History|
The AT-44 "Lawgiver" Blaster Pistol was a specialized energy weapon. Manufactured by the Antrix Corporation, the Lawgiver was the standard sidearm issued to special agents within the Antrixian Security Forces and certain members of the Jinsai Order.
Each Lawgiver had a sensor on its grip that was encoded to recognize the palmprint of the authorized user registered to the weapon. If anyone else, including another security agent or Jinsai, attempted to use the weapon it would discharge it's energy into the user's hand, leaving them severely crippled or killed. However, recognising that this feature may interfere with an agent performing their duties in the field, the Department of Security and Customs did maintain instructions on how to bypass the security feature. This information is only accessible by the utmost senior officials and the Jinsai Tribunes.

Caspule: The Lawgiver is a handgun featuring a built-in computer capable of controlling its operation, primarily to keep it from falling into the wrong hands and being used against the original owner. Using a micro-processor and a DNA sensor located in the grip of the weapon, a Lawgiver can only be operated by its designated owner, whose DNA print is programmed into the gun's memory. Any attempt to use the weapon by someone other than the owner will result in the weapon discharging all remaining energy from the ammo clip through the grip of the weapon. Damage for the discharge is: 6D per full power clip, 4D for a half charge, and 2D+2 for a quarter charge. A built-in laser sight gives a +2 bonus to operating the weapon.
Attempts to modify or alter the DNA programming of the weapon requires a Very Difficult Computer Programming/Repair roll and a Heroic Blaster Repair roll. Failing either one of thses rolls results in the weapon becoming totally non-functional until repaired by a Factory specific computer and Technician.
